Back in May 2007 I posted (Client Application Services) some links that completely describe this new VS2008 and Fx 3.5 feature. If you missed it back then, then please revisit the post to read about it.

If you prefer watching an 18' video that fully gets you started, I have exactly that for you on channel9: Client Application Services with VS2008. The final code that I created is in these two projects.

Can somebody please help me?
I have used about 30 hours to get Client Application Services to work with sqlexpress or sql server 2005. The application is winforms.

The code you have is not working on my machine VS2008 pro. XP SP2.

I have read and tried out every example on the net, but without any success, please help (begging :-)

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the great video presentation of client application services. I want to use it with Windows authentication and a custom roleprovider in a sql database. Can you change the authentication method to Windows in your sample application and can you then still access your roles if you add a user with the same name as your Windows login name (domain\username)? It does not work for me and it would prohibit me from using it which would be a shame.

Thanks,
Martin.

(I already posted this on channel 9 before I found this. Hope you don't mind posting it twice)

Martin Nyborg: XP or Vista makes no difference and as you can see in the video I am also using WinForms and SQL Express. You have provided no other info about your configuration so you are not giving anyone much for helping you. Please post to a public forums or newsgroup generic support questions with additional information as to what doesn't work...

Martin11111: Sorry I don't offer support through this website, but there is a response from the product team on the channel9 post so please follow up there.
